St. Patricks Day or the feast of St. Patrick. It's a cultural and religious festival held every year on 17th March; it is the death date of Saint Patrick. It is a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland. It is custom to wear green and shamrocks; Shamrock is a three-leaved plant to explain the holy trinity to the pagan Irish Let's get straight to the dessert and treats bit, there are so many things you can make, and some are pretty easy:
  • How about a Green Velvet Cake, very similar to Red Velvet, but add green gel paste. For the lucky touch, add a gold coin.
  • Bailey's brownies, super fudgy and a splash of Irish cream will make it the ultimate midnight treat.
  • Try our recipe for the Key Lime Pie; it will knock your socks off!
  • Shamrock cupcakes, create the lucky leaf using Renshaw sugarpaste.
  • Rainbow doughnuts, they can be baked or fried and go crazy with the icing!
  • Whisky truffles, so simple to make and only requires five ingredients!
  • Mint chocolate lasagna, the best thing about it is that there is no baking involved and only takes 30 minutes of your time!
  • Make a tall green ombre cake, the sponge can be green and the buttercream a bright white! Perfecto!
  • Green Oreos, so easy, colour the white chocolate green and dip one end into it, allow to set.
  • Shamrock cookies
  • Grasshopper fudge, not the one for kids, it's quite boozy containing creme de menthe liquor.
  • Baileys and coffee blondies, they are chewy and decadent, topped with spiked Irish cream icing, mmmm.
  • Mini Baileys Chocolate Trifle, again so easy, a no-bake cheesecake, cookies crumbs, whipped creams and loads of Baileys to warm the toggles.
  • Chocolate sponge, with a decadent baileys buttercream topped with chocolate chips!
  • Guinness, sweet pistachio rolls with Irish cream cheese glaze, winner winner pucker dinner!
  • And to top it off, Bailey's chocolate mousse, this will leave you feeling lucky!
