Chocolate is the ultimate comfort food and what better way to make something that only takes 10 minutes to assemble as opposed to hours of tempering.

It is so easy to create food art, all you need to do is; melt your favourite chocolate, spread it, swirl it around, add some edible glamour and TA-DAH!! You can break it into shards and chomp away or use on cakes as decor.

Ingredients:

Method:

  1. Line a large baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate over a bain-marie or in the microwave. Be sure to stir at each interval.
  3. Melt the white chocolate as per the dark chocolate. Mix in the pink chocolate oil colouring and raspberry flavoured oil to achieve the desired colour and taste.
  4. Pour the melted dark chocolate onto the lined baking tray and use a spoon or a palette knife to spread all over until desired thickness is achieved.
  5. Using a spoon, dollop the pink chocolate in various areas. With a skewer, swirl the chocolate creating a marbled effect. Do this quickly. Otherwise, the chocolate will set.
  6. Sprinkle over the freeze-dried raspberries. Give the tray a shake and gently tap the tray down on the work surface to even the chocolate out. You can also press the freeze-dried raspberries by hand onto the chocolate.
  7. Place in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  8. Once the chocolate has set, break into shards using a blunt knife. Or if you want precise shapes, use a hot knife, be sure to wipe the water off before cutting.

The chocolate can be customised to whatever flavours you like. You can add crushed meringues, toasted coconut flakes, edible gold leaf, sprinkles, slithered pistachios and almonds, whatever you want really.

The creativity is endless; you can even try nuts, dried chilli flakes, and sea salt flakes, or your favourite crushed biscuits. You can also use jelly beans for a more chewy texture. Jelly beans and chocolate together is a real Willy Wonka chocolate!
